Holiday Open House

I was commissioned to show as a vendor at a Holiday Open House for Nicole's Boutique. I made what would be a top tier wedding cake. White cake filled and decorated with champagne buttercream. The cake was topped with a fondant red vintage flower and dragdes. I also made red velvet and white cake cake pops to complete the table setting.

'Hooray Thirty' Ombre

'Hooray Thirty' Yellow and Green Ombre Cake. The top tier is a vegan chocolate cake with champagne buttercream and filling. The bottom tier is a refreshing grapefruit cake with champagne buttercream and filling. No luxury was spared for this birthday girl! The frosting is a ruffle stacked technique.

Pink Ombre

Hearts

Valentines Cake for my Love. A special cake for my Valentine...I made his favorite carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting. Simple cross-weave pattern with a single pink heart.

Peacock

Peacock cake. 4 Layer chocolate cake daquoise with alternating layers of raspberry buttercream filling and a hazelnut meringue and buttercream frosting. The cake was adorned with real peacock feathers, ribbon and a peacock brooch.

I had a french inspired wedding cake a few months before and the cake had the most delightful crispy almond filling. After much research, I discovered it was an a meringue and the cake was a variation of a daquoise. I tried my hand at it and was pleasantly surprised how well it came out. The client loved the cake!


Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies Cake. A former co-worker of mine requested this cake for her son. When she made the request I had no idea what Plants vs. Zombies was. I had to school myself on the cell phone game and became familiar with the characters. This was one of my more difficult cakes because I wanted to stay true to the game and actually have the cake make sense by placing the right plants in the right spot to defend the zombies (see, I did learn something!). The cake is a four tier lemon infused white cake with lemon-almond flavored buttercream. The characters are a fondant-gumpaste mixture and the remaining decorations are buttercream. By far my most interesting request for a cake!

Vegan Superhero!

Vegan Superhero Cake and cupcakes. The clients son has a very serious milk, egg and nut allergy so every precaution was taken to ensure all aspects of the cake and decorations were edible for him. The cake is four layers of alternating vanilla and chocolate with buttercream frosting. The cupcakes are made with real strawberries with buttercream frosting. All aspects of the cake and cupcakes are vegan.
